Marriage Counseling

“To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.”

― Timothy Keller, The Meaning of Marriage: Facing the Complexities of Commitment with the Wisdom of God

“What I want to offer you is a simple thought. To the degree you hide and blame, you will ruin the very thing that you most deeply desire. To the degree that you open your heart and give to the other, particularly in the context of some of your hardest moments, you will have the opportunity to develop true and lasting intimacy.” – Dan Allender

Premarital Counseling

The decision to marry is one of the most important choices we make in life. Preparation for marriage involves much more than detailing a beautiful wedding. My desire is to help you establish a marriage that will bring immense joy and worship for a lifetime.

What is Premarital Counseling?

It is a process of thinking about your future marriage that moves past finding a blueprint and trying to “get it right”, to pondering how to express wholeness and engaging fully with one another and God.

Why a counselor versus a group or individual at a church?

It is one-on-one focus with your relationship, and it is confidential.

What will we gain?

A heart to see God’s beauty in your marriage, a heart to see your spouse’s beauty, and God’s heart for your marriage.

How long will it take?

Typically, 8 sessions. Each session is 50 minutes.

State of Texas Marriage License:

Upon completion of your 8 sessions of premarital counseling you will receive a Certificate of Completion, which will allow you to receive a discount on your State of Texas marriage license.

Great marriages don’t just happen … you have to grow them!

A crucial part of having a great marriage is preparation.
